Four 2-hour ZOOM Sessions
Seated Baduanjin for Taijiquan
Join Master Sam Masich for four 2-hour Zoom sessions teaching the ancient Seated Baduanjin adapted especially for taijiquan players. These eight seated segments are perfect for those who want to go deep into the internal aspects of taijiquan or are interested in a profound practice for health and neigong development.
The seated method of baduanjin—also known as 'Zhongli Baduanjinfa' (鐘離八段錦法)—is one of the very oldest still-existing Chinese'neigong' or 'qigong' routines. It's creation is often attributed to Zhongyi Quan (鍾離權), a military character in life who became one of the 'Eight Immortals' (Ba Xian 八仙) in Daoist tradition.
Seated baduanjin is a practice-preparation tool and energy-cultivation method for neijiaquan arts. It supports the ‘decoupling,’ ‘reorienting,’ ‘smelting,’ and ‘repurposing’ of ‘vital energy’ (qi 氣) described, for example, in the ‘Thirteen Powers Song’ of the Taijiquan Classics. Training the ability of the yi (will) to mobilize the qi (vital energy) as a basis for action a fundamental to the practice of taijiquan as an energetic art.
This is the first time Sam has ever presented this work publicly.
As part of your registration, you will receive access to downloadable handouts for each session and access to the recorded session for your future reference.
